The model
Read full Audi Q4 Sportback reviewThere’s an awful lot to like about the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. It’s a comfortable, classy choice with a good range if you opt for a 40 model. However, the regular Q4 is available with a big battery for far less and has a bit more rear head room to boot. If you’re not so worried about the emblem on the nose of your car, we’d urge you to look at the Skoda Enyaq as well, because it’s similar in a lot of respects.
The trim
See full equipmentEven this entry-level trim is decently equipped, getting 19in alloy wheels, powerful LED headlights, three-zone climate control, a Type 2 charging cable and a 10.1in touchscreen infotainment system incorporating a DAB radio, built-in navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Meanwhile, standard safety kit includes automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance.
The engine
See full engine specsUnlike with the regular Q4, there’s no big battery rear-drive 40 model. That means you’ll need the twin motor 295bhp 50 to get the most range from your Sportback. 0-62mph takes 6.2sec, so performance is brisk but not electrifying, while range jumps up to a useful 308 miles.
