An outstandingly fast Sports SUV that’ll be more practical than its Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and BMW X6 M Competition rivals, but the RS Q8’s excessive weight holds it back from being the best handling in its class

Trim: RS Q8

There’s no such thing as a badly equipped RS Q3, with even this ‘entry-level’ model getting dual-zone climate control, heated front sports seats, ambient lighting, a 12.3in digital instrument cluster, a 10.1in infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 20in alloy wheels, a rear bench that slides and reclines, and keyless entry as standard.

Engine: RS Q8 TFSI Quattro

Every RS Q8 uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine, and is seriously fast, with 0-62mph covered in a scarcely believable 3.8 seconds. Overtaking power is immense, and you’re rewarded with a growling V8 soundtrack and a wonderfully bassy exhaust tone, but fuel economy isn't a strong point.
