Few similarly priced sports cars can match the outright pace and beautifully constructed interior of the Audi TT RS, but it isn’t the sharpest model in its class to drive. Most obviously, the Porsche 718 Cayman shows it up in the corners, but similarly priced versions of that car have coarse four-cylinder engines, whereas the five-cylinder unit in the TT RS sounds epic.
The more powerful 45 TFSI feels fast at virtually any revs and will crack 60mph in less than six seconds. It's available with a choice of front or four-wheel drive – dubbed quattro by Audi – but the latter makes the car heavier and only provides an advantage in wet conditions.
