Review

The Bentley Mulsanne is a luxury limo that’s a little sharper to drive than a Roll-Royce Phantom, but not quite as comfortable

The Speed model is the sportier of the Mulsannes and, as such, you get the Mulliner Driving Specification package as standard. This includes dark-finished wood trim, quilted leather seats with contrasting stitching, drilled alloy pedals and a leather rooflining. Outside, you get 21in wheels, a dark-tinted grille and headlights that are super-bright LED units.

If the standard Mulsanne’s engine isn’t formidable enough, then the Speed model adds more power and torque, taking it to 530bhp and an enormous 811lb ft. The 0-62mph sprint in just 4.9sec and a top speed of 190mph are enough to frighten many sports cars, but be warned: this variant’s firmer sports suspension does make the ride less supple than you might expect from a luxury limo.
