The engine
See full engine specsPower for the BMW M2 comes from a variant of the turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine that’s in the latest M3, with it producing 454bhp. That’s enough to get the six-speed manual car from 0-62mph in 4.3sec. Meanwhile, the eight-speed auto trims that to 4.1sec; this 'box can be left to its own devices, but there's also the option to shift manually via steering-wheel mounted paddles.
