We reckon, for keen drivers, the M’s broad performance envelope places it ahead of rivals, while the four-wheel-drive version bolsters its all-weather usability. See full equipmentThe M4 is marvellously well equipped. As well as having one of the best infotainment systems in the business, it also gives you 19in alloy wheels up front and 20s on the back (in what BMW calls a staggered set-up), a leather interior, a carbon-fibre roof and heated seats. The engine
See full engine specsUnder the bonnet is a 503bhp, twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine, and power is routed to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. In our tests, 0-60mph took just 3.8 seconds.
