The model
Read full reviewThe BMW X1 is good to drive, classy inside and hugely practical. It isn't as quiet nor as comfortable as the best family SUVs, but it's a fine buy if you fancy something a little more sporty.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentMost of the additional kit you get over SE trim is purely cosmetic, with black 18in alloy wheels, black accents, front sports seats and some contrast stitching on the dash. We’d stick to SE trim and spend the money on some useful options, instead.
The engine
See full engine specsWorth a look if you do lots or miles and are willing to consider a diesel. It pulls harder than the petrols at low revs, so feels a lot quicker than the 0-62mph time of 9.3sec would suggest. Indeed, it feels stronger than the equivalent Range Rover Evoque D150 or Volvo XC40 D3.
