Drivers of all shapes and sizes should be able to make themselves comfortable in the Citroen, because there’s a good range of seat and steering wheel adjustment. A height-adjustable driver’s seat is standard across the range, as is a height and reach-adjustable steering wheel, and you also get height-adjustable headrests.
The instrument cluster, which is mounted in the centre of the dash, is also very clear and easy to interpret at a glance, improving the Citroen’s ease of use. It’s just a pity that the wheel obscures part of the well-ordered centre console. Platinum versions get a front armrest, which is useful on longer motorway trips.

The cabin feels airy, and forward vision is exceptional thanks to a wrap-around windscreen with skinny pillars. This makes the C3 Picasso a doddle to drive in busy environments, as it’s easy to see what’s going on around you. The bonnet’s not very long, either, making it simple to judge your position precisely. Rearwards visibility is good, thanks to decent side mirrors and large rear windows, so all in the Citroen is very easy to see out of. All versions get rear parking sensors as standard, too. Parking the Picasso is easy enough anyway, because of its boxy size, impressive visibility and good manoeuvrability. A reversing camera is available with the sat-nav upgrade, too, but only on Platinum models.

Optional sat-nav system can be a bit fiddly
The Picasso gets a basic radio and CD player with an aux-in and steering wheel-mounted controls as standard, as well as Bluetooth and USB connectivity. A multifunction trip computer is also standard. You can pay extra for the eMyWay sat-nav system, which also adds extra speakers. It’s a bit dated but works well enough, and it’s not difficult to connect a phone to. That said, its controls are fiddly and the display can look cluttered. If you’ve got a Platinum edition then specifying sat-nav will also add a reversing camera.
In the past, small Citroens have had low-rent interiors, but the Picasso’s cabin is actually quite upmarket, particularly in Platinum trim. There are metallic highlights around the vents and there’s a smart digital instrument binnacle on top of the dashboard, which works very well and is easy to read. The dashboard itself is nicely textured, while the cloth trims feel soft and the seats are comfortable. It’s only lower down in the cabin that you’ll find some less elegant design and harder plastics. Everything feels well assembled and durable, too, so the Picasso should endure heavy use well.
