Citroën C5 Aircross 1.2 PureTech Sense Plus 5dr Review

The model
Read full Citroën C5 Aircross reviewThe C5 Aircross is a great-value large SUV that majors on comfort and refinement, but also offers flexible and frugal engines, versatile seating, a big boot and a decent amount of kit. Don't buy it if you want a plush interior, agile handling or seven seats, though, because its bigger sibling, the Peugeot 5008, and the Kia Sorento do those things rather better.
The trim
See full equipmentThe entry-level trim keeps costs to a minimum but still gives you loads of standard kit, including 18in alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, automatic windscreen wipers, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry and start, a 12.5in customisable digital driver display and a 10in touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, Bluetooth, built-in sat nav and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring. The only slight demerit is that you can't have this trim with the plug-in hybrid engine.
The engine
See full engine specsOur chosen engine only has 129bhp but its 0-62mph sprint of just over 10 secs is more than enough to quickly get you up to motorway speeds. Granted, the Skoda Kodiaq 1.5 TSI 150 will do the same sprint slightly faster, but the 1.2 Puretech 130 will never leave you struggling for pace. In fact, from low revs, it actually feels like it pulls harder than the Mazda CX-5.
