Dacia Duster 1.0 TCe 100 Bi-Fuel Prestige 5dr [6 Speed] Review

The model
Read full reviewThe headline news about the Dacia Duster range is its ultra-low starting price – far lower than any family SUV rival. But we recommend the mid-level Comfort trim, which is priced inline with an MG ZS, but the Duster will still end up costing you less to run over three years. It has some obvious shortcomings, such as its so-so handling and low-rent interior, but if you want cheap, no-frills motoring with more than enough everyday practicality, it's unrivalled.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentThere’s no doubting that this is the swankiest Duster in the line-up with climate control, blind spot monitoring, a 360deg camera and keyless entry.
The engine
See full engine specsA genuinely unique offering in the SUV class, being able to run on petrol and on LPG thanks to it having two fuel tanks. Running on LPG results in lower CO2 emissions, and while the fuel economy is actually worse than when you’re running on petrol, the fact that LPG is so much cheaper at the pumps means there are big potential fuel-bill savings. The Bi-Fuel version cost only a nominal amount more than the petrol-only TCe 100, and over the course of 12,000 miles you should have earned that extra outlay back. Plus, you’ve got the benefit of having the combined range of two fuel tanks. It is, though, very slow, whichever fuel it's running on.
