The Puma ST isn't for the faint of heart. It's sharp and aggressive, but in turn intoxicatingly entertaining. Reasonable costs and good practicality round off this five-star used buy.
The engine
Our favourite engine. With 153bhp, it can hit 62mph from a standstill in just 8.7 seconds, making it as nippy as much pricier small SUVs, such as the Audi Q2 35 TFSI. Fuel economy is barely any worse than than entry-level 1.0 Ecoboost mHEV 125 – in our True MPG test it averaged 45.1mpg. However, it is a shame that you can no longer get this engine with a manual gearbox.
