Review

If you're looking for a small package that offers cultured motoring on a sensible budget, then you must check out the Hyundai i10. It's relatively spacious, comes with a smart-looking interior, a great infotainment system and it rides and drives more impressively than plenty of bigger, pricier cars. The list price might look a bit steep, but if you check out the monthly PCP deals you'll find it's more affordable than it initially looks.

At the top of the tree is Premium trim, which brings privacy glass, 16in alloy wheels, LED running lights, front fog lights, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Premium also gives you the option of a contrasting roof colour and the rather pricey Tech Pack, which adds in-built sat-nav and wireless phone charging.

Despite costing not much more to buy - especially on a monthly PCP - this 83bhp 1.2-litre engine is a bit more acceleration (0-62mph takes 12.6sec), much happier at speed than the 1.0 MPi 67 and more refined, with very little impact on economy or emissions. Available with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox - the latter is essentially the same gearbox but with a robot working the clutch and gears for you, and gear changes can be very slow.
