The F-Pace balances fantastic driving dynamics, a generous amount of standard kit, a smart interior and strong resale values. However, there are other large SUVs out there that are more spacious and ride more comfortably. Refinement could also be a bit better, while those wanting a plug-in hybrid should consider the Mercedes GLC, with its long battery range.

The entry-level R-Dynamic S is the best value in the lineup, with 19in alloys, LED headlights, electrically adjustable front seats (that are also heated), a heated windscreen, power tailgate, and wireless phone-charging.

This is the best option for lower company car tax because it's the only F-Pace not sitting in the top-rate benefit-in-kind tax band. It's a 2.0-litre petrol hooked up to an electric motor. Combined, they offer 399bhp and 0-62mph in 5.3sec. On top of that, it has an official electric-only range of up to 40 miles.
