The driver's seat can be cranked up and down, but the steering wheel adjusts for height only, so taller folk may want it farther away from them. A combination of shallow windows and thick pillars restricts your view and makes the Patriot feel rather claustrophobic, but headroom is generous. The controls are large and simply laid out, making them easy to use.
Jeep Patriot 4x4 space & practicality
The Patriot is no Honda CR-V when it comes to interior practicality. Four adults will fit fine, but a hefty transmission tunnel makes life uncomfortable for a central rear passenger. Useful touches include reclining and folding rear seats, and a front passenger seat that folds flat - perfect when transporting long loads. There's decent storage space around the cabin, too, but the boot is shallow.
Jeep Patriot 4x4 equipment
Just three trims are available: Sport, Sport Plus and Limited. Even the cheaper Sport models are reasonably equipped, having air-conditioning, front and rear electric windows, electric folding door mirrors and alloy wheels. The Plus model adds front fog lamps, cruise control and tinted windows, while Limited specification adds leather seats and more body-coloured exterior trim. At the top of the range, Overland trim has sat-nav, a leather interior and a premium stereo.
