Section: Version review

The model
Read full Kia EV6 reviewA brilliant electric car with a long range and the ability to charge up very quickly. It’s also huge in the back and good to drive. Just bear in mind that cheaper rear-wheel drive versions make more financial sense than the faster four-wheel drive models.
The trim
See full equipmentThe mid-level GT-Line trim gives the EV6 some slightly sportier styling touches, along with tinted windows, upgraded front seats with electronic adjustment and a memory function, wireless phone charging and a clever device that allows the charging port to double as a 3.5kW three-pin plug socket; you can use it to boil a kettle or even (very slowly) charge another electric car.
The engine
See full engine specsThis pricier dual-motor version has a second electric motor powering the front wheels, boosting power to 321bhp and giving acceleration that’s a match for the Tesla Model Y Long Range. It isn’t cheap, though, and range is slightly worse than in the RWD versions.
