The model
Read full reviewThe Kia Niro is competitively priced, generously equipped and thrifty on fuel. The regular Hybrid is the best choice for private buyers, with the PHEV best left for company car drivers. Either way, we reckon entry-level Pure trim makes the most sense.
The trim
See full equipmentThis range-topping trim gets you loads of kit, including a sunroof, an electric tailgate, heated seats in the front and back, and a heated steering wheel. It’s very pricey, though.
The engine
See full engine specsAll versions of the Niro EV have a single 201bhp electric motor, which drives the front wheels and is fed by a 64.8kWh (usable capacity) battery. Acceleration is decent and a range of 250 miles on a charge is realistic, as long as you drive gently and the weather is mild.
