Review
Stick to the lower trims and the Sportage is good value for money, comes with a decent amount of rear space and a decent boot. However, we think other Family SUVs, such as the Skoda Karoq, are better options. The Sportage isn't that comfortable, has noisy engines that aren't especially fuel-efficient, and the higher-spec models are very pricey.
get the best priceTrim: 2
This is our favourite trim because it adds 17in alloy wheel, heated seats front and rear with power lumbar adjustment for the driver, more appealing interior trim, heated door mirrors, automatic wipers, sat nav, rear parking sensors and lane keep assist. You don't get automatic emergency braking (AEB), though, and you cannot add it as an option, which is poor.
Engine: 1.6 GDi ISG
The entry-level petrol engine needs working hard and isn’t very efficient. There are better petrol options available from its rivals, such as the Skoda Karoq.
