The Kia Sportage offers a generous amount of space front and rear, plus a large boot and one of the best interiors in its class. In our favourite 3 trim you get loads of equipment, and entry-level trims make a lot of sense compared with pricier rivals. The Hyundai Tucson is competitively priced, but the Sportage is a more polished alternative.
The 3 trim could be the sweet spot in the range, with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3inch touchscreen and 12.3inch digital instrument cluster. There's also a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, electric front seats and part-leather seating.
