With a generous amount of space, a large boot and one of the best interiors in its class, the Kia Sportage is still a fantastic family SUV. It’s also comfortable on the road and comes with a fantastic warranty. The Hybrid (HEV) engine paired with entry-level Pure trim is our pick of the range.

This sportier trim level adds some extra style, with 18in or 19in alloy wheels (depending on the engine) and exterior tweaks. It also upgrades the infotainment screen to a 12.3in one with built-in sat-nav and adds adaptive cruise control, driver lumbar support, suede leather upholstery and keyless entry/start.

This self-charging hybrid combines a 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine with an electric motor and a small battery. Power is a combined output of 236bhp and is fitted with a six-speed automatic only. Drive is sent to the front wheels, but a four-wheel drive option is available on top-spec GT Line S.
