The model
Read full Kia Sportage reviewThe Sportage is a great all-round family SUV that offers a generous amount of space front and rear, plus a large boot and one of best interiors in its class. In our favourite 3 trim, you get loads of equipment, and entry-level trims make a lot of sense compared with pricier rivals. The Hyundai Tucson is slightly cheaper, but the Sportage is a more polished alternative.
The trim
See full equipmentThe 3 trim could be the sweet spot in the range, with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3inch touchscreen and 12.3inch digital instrument cluster. There's also a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, electric front seats and part-leather seating.
The engine
See full engine specsThe entry-level 1.6-litre petrol engine offers 148bhp and sprints from 0-62mph in 9.9sec. It should offer sufficient performance for pretty much any situation, even if it may need working hard to get up to speed. You can have the 1.6 T-GDI with an automatic or a manual gearbox. The automatic also comes with mild-hybrid tech to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, and can be had with four-wheel drive.
