Review

If you're after maximum comfort from your luxury SUV, the luxurious Range Rover will prove a quiet and spacious way to transport up to five people and 'tonnes' of luggage. Performance is at the very least brisk although some may prefer the Audi Q7 or BMW X7 for their better body control, sharper handling and more refined engines.

Trim: Autobiography

Autobiography has a lavish specification that befits its high price, with a sliding panoramic roof, more powerful Pixel LED headlights, massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel and four-zone climate control. You also get a surround-view camera, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, illuminated kick plates on the door sills and, if you opt for the long-wheelbase version, a rear-seat entertainment system.

Engine: 5.0 V8 S/C

This supercharged 5.0-litre V8 with 518bhp has bags of performance in hand but, in the real world, it’s little faster than either of the diesels unless you're really prepared to rev it hard. It’s also embarrassingly inefficient, with real world economy in the low-20mpg range if you're very lucky.
