The Lexus RC F is a mighty last hurrah to big V8 engines. The fact that it’s expensive to run should surprise no one, but you might be disappointed to learn that a Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupé is still more fun to drive. Still, the RC F is well equipped, feels pretty plush inside and is well priced against the V8 coupé alternatives.

Your only option, but what an engine. Outrageously quick and fantastic to listen to, the 457bhp 5.0-litre petrol can fire the RC F from 0-62mph in just 4.5sec. Did we mention how much we like the way it howls gloriously as it does so?
