Mercedes E-Class E200 AMG Line 4dr 9G-Tronic Review

The model
Read full reviewThe Mercedes E-Class is a mixed bag. It's very well equipped and has a great range of engines, from efficient diesels, plug-in hybrids to punchy petrols. It's pretty quiet and comfortable on the motorway but the ride isn't perfect around town and, while the boot is big, the rear passenger compartment isn't, relative to its rivals. Overall, we'd say the BMW 5 Series is a better car to drive, has a better infotainment system and it's better built inside.

The engine
See full engine specsThe idea of a 2.0-litre petrol engine might appeal, but it's nowhere as economical as the E220d diesel and not as gutsy so you have to rev it harder. Ultimately, it's just as quick, with 0-62mph in 7.5sec.
