The EQS impresses when it comes to range and refinement, but it doesn’t quite live up to its ‘electric S-Class’ billing. Not only does it not ride as well as a traditional S-Class but it also suffers from cramped rear seats and an average interior quality. So while there's no denying that its long range and zero emissions make it an alluring choice for business users, the same can be said for the BMW i7. And that car makes no compromises when it comes to comfort.

In addition to the extra performance that the AMG 53 brings, you get all of the equipment from the 450+ Premium Plus model, along with multi-contour massaging seats, the spectacular Hyperscreen dashboard and sportier looks inside and out.

A 3.8sec 0-62mph time means the AMG 53 can leave plenty of bespoke sports cars trailing, yet it will still travel a healthy 357 miles between charges, according to official figures. Despite having a sportier focus than the EQS 450+, it rides very well when you're in the Comfort mode.
