The Mini Clubman’s an entertaining car for those looking for cutsie looks, lots of customisation, and a smart, funky interior. It's also reasonably practical, but if you value tidy handling then choose an Audi A3 instead, or if a smooth ride is your thing, a Volkswagen Golf of Mercedes A-Class.
This is our favourite trim to keep the costs down, and comes with air-con and LED headlights, but it's worth thinking about adding the Comfort Package and the Navigation Plus Package to get a good equipment tally. They include rear parking sensors, climate control, heated seats and an 8.8in infotainment screen with additional functionality.
