The model
Read full reviewThe Mini 3dr is a hugely desirable small car that has plenty of substance to match its style. We’d recommend a peppy yet frugal Cooper in Exclusive trim to make the most of the Mini’s biggest strength, its well appointed interior. If practicality is high on your shortlist, we’d point you in the direction of the even more impressive Audi A1, though.

See full equipmentAs the name suggests, this adds some hot-hatch inspired dressing to the regular Cooper. That means bigger 17in alloy wheels in black, a sporty bodykit, a rear spoiler, sports seats, sports pedals, a sports steering wheel and cruise control. You can also have sports suspension at no extra cost but if you value your spine, we’d avoid it.
The engine
See full engine specsThe Cooper's engine is smooth, exceptionally quiet and, with maximum torque – or pulling power – available from just 1250rpm, makes it very easy to maintain swift, relaxed progress.
