2015 Infiniti Q30 production car revealed

This is the final production version of the Infiniti Q30, which is on display at the Frankfurt motor show.

The Q30 is the company's first premium hatchback and is intended to be a rival to the likes of the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf.

It is based on the front-wheel-drive chassis that underpins that new Mercedes-Benz A-Class but has a slightly raised ride height and more heavily contoured styling.

The finished car is very similar to the Q30 concept, which was revealed at the 2013 version of the Frankfurt show. The high-class interior features a large central infotainment screen and part-digital instrument cluster, and includes premium materials such as wood and leather inside.

The company claims the Q30 will offer a high level of driving dynamics, which were honed as a result of testing in Europe. The car itself will be built at the Nissan/Infiniti plant in Sunderland.

Orders will be taken after the car gets revealed at the Frankfurt show but deliveries will not start until early 2016. Anticipated global sales volumes are around 50,000 cars per year, with significant exports to China and North America.

The car’s cabin is described as coming with crafted trims and expressive interiors.
