What is it? The all-new baby Range Rover is one of the most hotly anticipated new cars of 2011. Blends futuristic, sporty looks with genuine off-road ability and a classy cabin. The three-door Coupe has a lower roofline than the five-door version.

Volkswagen Tiguan
What is it? The Tiguan is Volkswagens face-lifted compact SUV, with updated styling and more-efficient engines. As before, a sound ownership prospect and all versions are good to drive. Escape trim adds a more rugged front bumper and extra off-road kit.

Porsche Cajun
A baby brother for the Cayenne. Porsche has confirmed that the Cajun will be built, but nothing beyond that. Its likely to be based on the Audi Q5, with prices starting at around 40,000 and a launch date in late 2012.
