The new Cadillac CTS has made its debut at the New York motor show, with the company claiming it offers increased luxury and performance compared with the outgoing model.
The engine line-up includes a new 414bhp twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6 petrol, which is mated to a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. This will be badged as the CTS-V Sport, and has an estimated 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds.
Other engines include a 268bhp turbocharged four-cylinder unit and a 317bhp 3.6-litre V6. A six-speed automatic gearbox is standard, with the eight-speed 'box as an option. All-wheel-drive transmission is also offered on all models.
The new CTS comes with a host of interior equipment, including 20-way powered, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, an electronically locking glovebox and even a motorised cup holder lid in the centre console.
For Cadillac to truly succeed in the UK, though, a diesel is essential and the company's European boss Susan Doherty told What Car? recently that this is still up to four years away. This could mean that the CTS gains a diesel engine mid-way through its lifecycle.
