Cadillac's CTS Concept Coupe

There are two main attractions at the Cadillac stand - a CTS concept car and the CTS that you can buy now.

The CTS Concept Coupe was unveiled at the Detroit motor show at the start of the year, but this is the first time the car has appeared in the UK.

When the covers first came off the car in January, Cadillac maintained that the car wouldn't go into production until it had fully gauged reaction, but the revelation at the time that it had been designed with diesel power in mind suggested that plans were already well advanced.

Meanwhile, this could well be your first chance to see right-hand-drive models of the CTS executive car.

The car, on sale in September, is powered by 207bhp 2.8-litre V6 or 305bhp 3.6-litre V6 petrol engines and will cost from 26,995.

Both models come with a six-speed automatic gearbox, with the larger-engined car also getting gearshift paddles behind the steering wheel.

A 2.9-litre V6 diesel engine will be added to the range next year.

The rear-wheel-drive car also comes with traction control and a limited-slip differential as standard.

There is only one trim level, called Sport Luxury. Features include rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, heated leather front seats, climate control, cruise control and a 10-speaker Bose stereo with iPod connectivity.

Cadillac is also showing off its Provoq concept car - a hydrogen fuel cell soft-roader.

The electric car has a range of 300 miles, can travel from zero to 60mph in 8.5 seconds and has a top speed of 100mph.

It has solar panels on its roof to power the stereo and interior lights.

On closer inspection of the interior, you may see contents of your recycling bin - the carpets are made from recycled polyester and the roof lining from soya.
