During the coronavirus lockdown, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has been busy delivering essential support to keep Britain’s vans on the road – with Mobile Service Clinics that offer social-distanced on-site maintenance helping many businesses supporting the NHS, the healthcare industry and other key industries to keep moving.
Now that restrictions are being lifted and a broader range of companies are getting back to work, Volkswagen is looking to help firms that have been financially affected by COVID-19. It’s all part of the brand’s ‘Working With You’ promise, designed to support businesses – especially when times are tough.
‘Back to Work’ offers on in-stock vans
Firstly, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering a ‘Back To Work’ offer on in-stock vans, with the first three months of repayments totally taken care of by Volkswagen – helping firms that are having to adapt to the fast-changing needs of post-lockdown life to source additional vehicles quickly and more affordably.
On new Contract Hire agreements, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering no upfront costs and no repayments for the first three months. Alternatively, businesses buying a Volkswagen van with a new Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) will benefit from a deposit contribution, plus no repayments for the first three months (up to 3.5% APR representative).
“We know that many businesses are apprehensive, and there’s a good deal of uncertainty about how the rest of 2020 will play out across many of the industries we support,” says Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Head of Sales James Douglas.
“That’s why we wanted to take a load off, by offering the first three months on us. By doing so, UK companies won’t have to delay new van purchases, and can instead concentrate on driving their business forward.”

0% finance for essential servicing
Next up is an interest-free 0% finance offer for essential vehicle servicing or repair work.
Every year around £13.8m of MOT-failing ‘red work’ in key areas such as tyres, brakes and steering goes unrepaired, as it’s estimated that up to four million van drivers will avoid a regular service for fear of an unexpected repair bill. Post-lockdown – with a loss of income, and vans sitting idle – taking on the cost of servicing and repairs is even more of a worry.
Keeping vans well-maintained is not just about staying safe on the road. Regular servicing helps you keep your vehicle and your business running more efficiently, with the ability to spot problems before they happen cutting the risk of greater downtime if your van is forced off the road with a breakdown.
To help van owners stay on top of vehicle maintenance, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering interest-free loans of up to £5000, with payments spread over six months and the option of paying nothing on the day the repair is completed.
