By the standards of some far less roomy superminis, the Cube is well-priced – especially considering its standard spec. However, it isn't expected to hold onto its value particularly well. Fuel economy and emissions figures are respectable rather than outstanding, and there's no sign of engine stop-start system that we'd expect in a primarily urban car.
Nissan Cube Hatchback quality & reliability
Amid all the jacuzzi- and water drop-inspired shapes in the Cube's cabin you'll find a lot of familiar Nissan switches, controls and plastics that seem to have been chosen for their durability rather than their style. We've no doubt it will all be solid and dependable, though, and expect the car to be mechanically reliable.
Nissan Cube Hatchback safety & security
Some people will buy the Cube as much for its family practicality as for its stand-out styling, and they'll be reassured by the fact that stability control is fitted to every model, along with six airbags. You also get marked parts, locking wheelnuts, an engine immobiliser and deadlocks to make life difficult for thieves.
