The model
Read full Nissan Qashqai reviewThe Nissan Qashqai is a strong contender in the family SUV class, although it doesn't quite beat the all-round package offered by the Skoda Karoq and Kia Sportage. We reckon the middle of the range N-Connecta 140 trim is where the best value lies because the cheaper trims (especially Visia) are stingily equipped and range-topping models are rather pricey.
The trim
See full equipmentYou’ll be seriously pampered if you go for range-topping Tekna+ trim, thanks to quilted leather seats that have a massaging function for those sitting in the front. It also has 20in alloy wheels, memory recall settings for the electrically operated front seats and a 10-speaker BOSE stereo, but it's too expensive for us to recommend.
The engine
See full engine specsYou won’t exactly be thrown back in your seat when you accelerate hard, especially at low revs, but performance is respectable enough with 0-62mph in 9.5sec. The DIG-T 158 will get you up to motorway speeds without bother and gives you enough oomph to safely overtake slower cars and cyclists on smaller roads. Officially it'll average around 44mpg and, on test, we averaged 37mpg.
