Read full New Nissan Qashqai reviewThe Nissan Qashqai remains a strong contender in the family SUV class but doesn’t quite match the all-round package offered by the Kia Sportage and Skoda Karoq. We think you’re best off sticking with the mid-spec N-Connecta trim and the DIG-T 140 engine because it gives the best mix of equipment and performance for the money.
The trim
See full equipmentWorth considering if you want extra luxuries, such as a gesture-controlled electric tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, 19in alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, a heated windscreen, heated front seats, electric front seats, adaptive LED headlights, wireless phone charging and a head-up display. We reckon cheaper N-Connecta trim represents better value for money, though.
The engine
See full engine specsThis is our favourite Qashqai engine because it’s cheaper than the DIG-T 158 and has almost as much low-rev pull, so it's not that much slower (0-62mph takes a respectable 10.2sec). Officially, it averages around 44mpg.
