The 408 is pleasant inside and fairly well equipped. The closely-related Citroën C5 X is more comfortable and cheaper to buy, but the plug-in hybrid 408's slightly longer electric range makes it a better choice for company car buyers.
For a reasonable amount of extra money this adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, front parking sensors and 19in alloys. It’s worth considering.
This is the cheapest way into the 408. It offers a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 128bhp, and having driven this engine in the Citroën C5 X we suspect this is the version to recommend unless you're a company car users. In the C5X, it’s punchy enough and relatively frugal.
