Has a smart interior and scores highly for safety. Sadly, in many other areas – including range, driving dynamics and speed of charging – it's well behind the class leaders.

While opting for the Dual-Motor version comes with the same equipment as other versions, it also gives you access to the Performance Pack, which makes the Polestar 2 faster and adds Ohlins adjustable suspension. It’s an expensive option though, so we’d avoid adding it.

This long range version of the single-motor Polestar 2 is no faster than the entry-level version but, thanks to the bigger battery, it’ll go further between charges, officially travelling up to 341 miles compared with the Standard Range’s 297 miles.
