Just like the standard Cayenne, fine handling and strong performance are the Coupé’s big strengths. It may not be quite as practical as its squarer stablemate, but it’ll still meet the needs of most families. The best version is the Cayenne S, because the Turbo and hybrid models are a little less nimble. It's not that well equipped, though, and the ride is firmer than that of the Audi Q8.

Trim: S

The main thing you pay for here is the more powerful 2.9-litre V6 and bigger brakes. You also get different 19in wheels and four round exhaust pipes, but otherise the kit list is the same as the standard Cayenne's.

Engine: S 5dr Tiptronic

An additional turbo means the S model gets 434bhp – enough to knock a second off the 0-62mph time, even though this V6 is smaller at 2.9 litres. It’s more expensive to buy but barely any more expensive to run and feels much sportier. With that in mind, it’s the one we’d pick.
