The model
Read full Porsche Taycan reviewIf you're looking for a brilliant electric car that offers real driving pleasure, the Taycan is the one for you. On top of its amazing handling, it's also wonderfully classy inside and reasonably practical. On the negative side, the Audi e-tron GT is almost as good to drive but cheaper and better equipped, while there are a number of cheaper electric cars out there with longer official ranges.
The trim
See full equipmentAdds bigger front brakes, heated rear seats, leather trim, 14-way powered front seats (18-way adaptive sports seats are a no-cost option) and a 14-speaker Bose stereo.
The engine
See full engine specsThis is the Turbo model. Normally it has 617bhp but, for short bursts, it can produce up to 671bhp. We timed it on a damp track getting from 0-60mph in 3.1sec and going on to reach 100mph in just 6.9sec – quicker than a Tesla Model S Dual Motor Performance managed in the same conditions. It will also do a WLTP range of 315 miles (bank on 250 in the real world) and can charge at up to 270kW, which would take the battery from 10-80% in around 20mins.
