Read full reviewIf you’re after an affordable coupé SUV that’s still pretty practical, the Renault Arkana is worth considering. It’s not particularly brisk and the ride is on the firm side, but to make up for that it’s very keenly priced and promises respectable running costs relative to other petrol coupé SUVs. If you don’t mind paying a bit more, there are better options, such as the quicker and more comfortable Cupra Formentor.

Officially it promises to average 60mpg and low CO2 emissions make it a sensible option for company car buyers. However, it’s not as quick as the cheaper TCe 140 engine or most rivals, although it has sufficient power for most situations.
