We can see the appeal of the Captur’s funky looks and affordable starting price, but by the time you get an engine with enough power coupled to the right trim, it doesn't look quite such a bargain. All the engines are relatively weak compared with those in the better-handling and better-packaged Ford Puma. The Captur isn't as comfortable or practical as a Skoda Kamiq, either.

This entry-level engine is disappointingly sluggish, with very little urgency unless you work it hard. The more powerful E-Tech Hybrid 145 makes more sense.
