Seat Leon 1.5 TSI EVO 150 Xcellence 5dr Review

The model
Read full reviewThe latest Seat Leon is a fantastic all-rounder. Not only does it handle well, come packed with kit and feature a roomy interior, but it should also prove relatively cheap to run thanks to the frugality promised by its petrol engines – especially the 1.5 TSI 130. Indeed, its blend of talents makes this our favourite family car, while the plug-in version is well worth considering, especially for company car users.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentSeat markets the Xcellence as ‘the indulgent one’, which seems appropriate once you consult the brochure. As standard it comes with 17in alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, heated front seats, a heated leather steering wheel, suede lined seats, a powered driver’s seat with memory and adjustable lumbar support, three zone climate control, a rear view camera and keyless start and entry. And breathe.
The engine
See full engine specsEndows the Leon with some proper performance. In our tests, it managed to sprint to 60mph from a standstill in just 7.7sec, which isn’t far off what some hot hatchbacks can manage. It’s smoother and quieter than the TSI 130, too, but it quite a lot more expensive.
