Range-topping, sportiest version of the Enyaq lacks enough driver appeal to justify its premium over cheaper versions. We'd suggest choosing a cheaper Enyaq or, if you're looking for an electric SUV that's fast and fairly fun to drive, consider the Kia EV6 AWD.

Even the smaller battery ‘60’ version gets plenty of standard luxuries, including dual-zone climate control, 19in alloys, power-folding door mirrors, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, manually adjustable front-seat lumbar support, front and rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, ambient lighting, sat-nav, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, a 13.0in infotainment screen and cruise control. Lounge trim gets you a part faux suede interior with mustard coloured stitching.

The less powerful of the two motors choices packs a respectable 177bhp, all of which is fed to the rear wheels. Performance is nippy enough, with 0-62mph officially taking 8.4 seconds (we tested it hitting 0-60mph in 7.7sec). If you specify the optional fast charger is can charge at up to 100kW and has an official range of 246 miles, which from our experience works out to around 180 miles in the real world.
