The Skoda Enyaq is practical, good to drive, smart inside and well-equipped. Perhaps most impressive of all, though, is the value it offers; the 60 version is priced in line with smaller alternatives, including the Kia Niro EV. The 60 has a fine range for everyday journeys plus the odd family holiday, but we'd advise going for the 80 if you regularly drive long distances.

With 261bhp at its disposal and a 0-62mph time of 6.9sec, the 80X is the most accelerative Enyaq. It’s noticeably swifter off the line than the 60, but you have to pay a hefty price for that privilege, and the standard Tesla Model 3 is faster and cheaper.
