The model
Read full Skoda Fabia reviewThe Fabia is practical, comfy and good value for money, and remains one of the best small cars on sale today. It isn’t as engaging to drive as the Seat Ibiza or as efficient as the Honda Jazz, but it’ll cost you less and still manages to be good in every area. If you’re after a new small car, definitely include the Fabia on your shortlist.
The trim
See full equipmentOpting for Colour Edition gets you jazzier looks, including 16in alloy wheels, privacy glass and door mirrors painted the same colour as the roof. You also get an 8.0in touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry and a virtual cockpit digital display behind the steering wheel.
The engine
See full engine specsIf you opt for any trim other than Monte Carlo, the 1.0 TSI 110 will be the most powerful engine you can have. Unlike the less powerful engines, it comes with a six-speed (rather than five-speed) manual gearbox as standard, and is also available with an optional automatic gearbox. Unless you need an automatic, we'd stick with the 1.0 TSI 95 – it's cheaper but not dramatically slower.
