The Karoq is a top-drawer family SUV with clever seating options, a big boot and plenty of space inside for passengers. It’s also a pleasure to drive, thanks to its comfortable ride and great visibility – and it has a well made interior. However, Skoda is not planning to produce a hybrid Karoq, so if you want a family SUV with a low company car tax rate, we’d recommend you take a look at the Kia Sportage.

With Sportline trim, you’re mainly paying for a sportier look with its 18in wheels, panoramic roof, sports seats, black detailing, and more aggressive front and rear bumpers. It can't be had with the excellent VarioFlex rear seats.

This 148bhp 2.0 diesel is gutsy from low revs and is very nearly as quick as the 1.5 TSI 150 petrol. The TDI 150 is available with optional four-wheel drive, and the added traction that provides could come in useful if you plan to do any towing or simply live up a slippery lane.
