Review

The Octavia confirms its place as a class-leading hatchback purely by the amount of space on offer, with a boot that’s longer and far more useable than almost any of its rivals. For a practical, useable and enjoyable hatchback, it’s hard to beat the Octavia.

Trim: SE Technology

The one to go for if you’re a company car user. It includes an upgraded infotainment system with online connectivity that puts a range of downloadable information at your disposal, plus an in-built sat-nav and a wi-fi hotspot. Front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking are also standard. However, it is offered only with the 1.6 TDI 115 or 2.0 TDI 150 and has restricted finance options.

Engine: 2.0 TDI CR

Worth the extra if you want good fuel economy but also strong performance. It’s also more refined than the 1.6 diesel, emitting fewer vibrations at low revs and benefiting from a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
