Review

The Skoda Superb Estate is a truly fabulous thing. For a start, it's absolutely massive, so it has the practicality base covered. Yet it's far from a one-trick pony, proving pretty comfy, nicely made, well equipped and great value for money. If you can forego a premium German or Swedish badge, it's a spankingly good estate car.

Range-topping Laurin & Klement adds luxuries such as adaptive suspension (DCC), a rear-view camera, park assist, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, rear climate control, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, a heated windscreen, electrically operated front seats, perforated leather seat trim and more powerful Canton sound system.

This 197bhp 2.0 TDI comes with an automatic gearbox and it's available with four-wheel drive. It's a great performer with huge reserves of low-end oomph for ferrying around people, luggage, or towing a caravan. 0-62mph takes 7.9sec and officially it'll average just over 50mpg.
