The model
Read full reviewThe Skoda Superb is pretty comfortable, well equipped, great value for money and one of the roomiest cars in its class. If you can forego a premium German badge, it's a spankingly good car all round.

The engine
See full engine specsThis petrol engine is our pick of the range. With 148bhp it has enough poke to match the 2.0 TDI 150 from 0-62mph (9.1 for the diesel and 9.2 for the petrol, for the record) and while you have to work it harder up hills than the diesel, it has the requisite oomph if you're not always carrying heavy loads or towing. It's also smooth, reasonably fuel efficient and pretty good on company car tax.
