Review

The Tesla Model S comes with stunning performance, a feature-packed infotainment system, fine comfort and handling, lots of passenger space and a huge boot. And it's one of the easiest electric cars to live with, thanks to Tesla's brilliant Supercharging network and the Model S's long range, making it a sensible choice if you do lots of miles.

The Model S comes with lots of luxuries, including 'vegan leather' upholstery, four-zone climate control, LED headlights, electrically adjustable front seats, autonomous driving modes, power-folding door mirrors, metallic paint, heated seats (front and rear), a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and keyless entry, via an app on your smartphone. Plus, the 17in touchscreen that dominates the dashboard features internet connectivity with access to Google Maps, Netflix and a host of computer games.

The name Performance gives the game away, really, because it's crazily quick. It has 778bhp with Ludicrous Plus Mode and, add in a feature called Cheetah Stance, which increases traction, and in theory it'll hit 0-60mph in 2.3sec. We managed 2.8sec on a damp track. The official range between charges is still 367 miles.
