The Grandland X offers a similar blend of comfort and practicality as the Peugeot 3008 on which it’s based, but there are better all-rounders in this class

Trim: Elite Nav Premium

In addition to the features brought by Elite Nav trim, Elite Nav Premium adds keyless entry and a powered tailgate. We’d keep to Griffin trim if you want these handy items, and save a bundle of cash.

Engine: 1.2 Turbo

You might expect this petrol engine to feel underpowered given its small capacity but, in reality, it is perfectly adequate. It also averages more than 50mpg in official fuel economy tests, no matter which wheels, tyres and gearbox you choose. A 1.0-litre Skoda Karoq or Seat Ateca is punchier, let alone a 1.5, however.
